Chapter 13: Early Final Exam

[1 Week Later]

Today was the final exam to pass the combat class early. The school had taken it upon itself to bring in an expert to fight Logan. As this was the first time this was happening, they had gotten the best expert they could buy. They wanted to keep Logan as long as possible. They had even used some underhanded methods to get some one from the underworld.

When Logan arrived to the school, he was happy to finally have a guarantee out of school. He wasn't worried in the slightest. He had figured out that he could use many more advanced and secret techniques after exiting the VR program. It wasn't that he improved very much, but that he now knew that he could use some out of this world techniques.

In reality, Logan's first actual time using the God's Orbit technique was in VR. He used the technique not only for the games benefit, but also to see how much combat power was possible to display in this world.

Logan had now noticed that the world worked like this; if you had the ability, then you could do what you want. This was a major breakthrough as he could now display many more powerful moves. This revelation added to his already unparalleled strength and will, it wouldn't be surprising if Logan used a flying technique, that it would work.

Now that he knew this, he could probably take over the whole world... but why would he do that? He just wanted to have fun. Besides, taking over the world would be a bunch of work, and theirs no fun ruling the world. As long as Logan had fun with his friends in VR, he wouldn't care what happened in the real world as long as it had nothing to do with him, his family or his friends.

Getting to his previous classroom, Logan saw a battle hardened middle aged man in the ring, and Professor Chen off to the side. They seemed to be waiting for Logan.

As Logan made his way to the ring Professor Chen made his way to introduce the man next to him.

"Logan, this is Mr. Wang Lei. He will be your opponent for the exam. As long as you can beat him, you won't have to take any more combat classes." Professor Chen said. He knew who the person next to him really was. He was a void real expert from the underworld guild, famous for assassinating many people. The principal had a friendly relationship with him, even though the man was still getting paid an astronomical amount of money.

This showed how valuable Logan was to the school. They had been spying on Logan through the cameras, and they wanted to keep him as their own.

"Alright. Well, nice to meet you, I guess. Though I doubt I'll ever see you again after this is over, but I'm happy to make your acquaintance." Logan said.

'What a cocky brat!' Me. Wang Lei thought as his expression stayed the same.

"Ehem. Well why don't we start." Professor Chen coughed.

As Logan got into the ring, he felt the man across from him release a chilling aura.

Killing intent! Blood lust!

These two things were one of the same, but still different. Killing intent was a mind pressure that told the person sensing it that someone wanted to kill them. It could also be sensed from which direction the attack was coming from.

Blood lust could be the same, however if one was skilled enough to control their it, they could separate it from killing intent. Different from killing intent, blood lust could induce fear. Fear, similar to what anger can do to you, could cloud the vision. Fear could trick the mind into hallucinating. If one couldn't stand the blood lust, they could faint or lose control of their bodies. In extreme cases, the one getting pressured could die from to much adrenaline. However this was normally extremely difficult to induce because the one exhibiting the pressure would had to have killed at least 100 times more life then the one that was receiving the pressure.

Mr. Wang Lei's killing intent wasn't separated from his blood lust. This either meant, he didn't know the difference, he didn't know blood lust existed, or he could only release killing intent.

Logan on the other hand could not feel any pressure. He knew this person was emitting it, however it wasn't nearly strong enough to effect him.

Smiling, Logan said, "Oh my, that's quite a bit of force your displaying. Thanks for showing me something else in this world."

DANGER!!!

Wang Lei shivered. Logan had released a pinch of his blood lust. However even that much hard to handle. Thankfully Logan only directed it towards Wang Lei or else many people around would be foaming at the mouth.

When Wang Lei looked at Logan again all he saw was a demon. In his eyes Logan had red eyes, flaming horns and pitch black wings. His knees were going week. His bladder was almost released.

Suddenly Logan retracted his blood lust. When Wang Lei looked at Logan again the world was back to normal. Wang Lei's killing intent was broken and retracted instinctively when Logan released his own.

Shaking his head Wang Lei looked at Logan with a complicated expression. He was contemplating whether or not he was going crazy. Wang Lei had never felt like that. Even when he met the guild vice leader or elders, nothing had ever come close to that, FEELING! Some of the Underworld elders were old monsters of the assassin world and even when faced with them, he had never felt that kind of terror.

Meanwhile, Logan was waiting for Wang Lei to come out of his stunned state with his arms crossed. Logan thought, 'Hmm, maybe that was a little to much. Even if it was only a second, he seems pretty out of it.'

"Mr... Mr. Wa... MR. WANG LEI!" Snapping Wang Lei out of his trance, Professor Chen continued, "The March has started. It's okay to start fighting now."

Wang Lei nodded to Professor Chen while gulping. His spirit was almost broken, however he reminded himself that he gets paid even if he loses. So, with unsure steps, Wang Lei's eyes sharpened and he advanced towards Logan. Logan scanned Wang Lei seeing he was only a void realm expert. When he locked eyes with Wang Lei, Wang Lei involuntary stopped in fear and shuddered.

Logan walked calmly and steadily in front of Wang Lei. Wang Lei seeing this threw a powerful punch towards Logan's face. The punch was called the 1 inch punch and was a punching technique where you move all the force in your body to one point.

Whoosh!

Logan tilted his head, dodging it with ease. "Hmm, that was good. It's similar to my more powerful version, Recoilless."

BUBOOM

Logan launched a devastating fist. Recoilless was a concept that could be added to every move. The concept was to completely focus all energy to a single point. This concept was different, even if it sounded the same. A byproduct of this technique was that you didn't need to get into any form and could hit will full force even with no leverage. Logan could be falling from the sky and punch/kick upward with max force.

Another thing this concept could add was that it could be performed with any and all techniques. This was one of the things Logan tried during the week. Now, even a simple poke could kill someone.

Wang Lei flew back and fell to the ground. He felt like his face was torn off. Laying on the mat while loosing consciousness, the last thing Wang Lei saw was Logan's bored, nonchalant face.

"Is that it." Logan said looking at Professor Chen.

Professor Chen went through many emotions. Shock, fear, awe, and finally helplessness. Sighing he said, "Huuu, yes that's it. You may go back home. I will take this to my supervisor and you will have your certificate by next week."

And just like that Logan walked out of the school and left campus, going back home to play VR.
