"So, Emily. What about you?" Aunt Virginia asked her and smiled courageously at her.
Emily blushed and pressed her hands to her cheeks in embarrassment. She laid her hands in her lap, gluing her gaze on them.
"Well," she began, "his name is Robert, and he spoke to me in exactly the same way as Philip to Adela. As we were dancing together. He was my partner. He asked me what my name was but I refused to tell him. He also told me that he would delight if he had a chance to see me again, and asked me where I live."
"That's great, Emily!" Virginia said, expressing her excitement. "Did you tell him that he can find you here? At your aunt's house?"
Emily shook her head negatively. "No, I told him that if he really wants to see me again then it will not be trouble for him to find out where he can find me."
Virginia and Adela stared at her being at a loss.
"Did you really do that?" asked Virginia.
"Yes," came the immediate answer from Emily.
