Chapter 283: Chapter (Two Hundred) Eighty Two: Joy

" And tell me when exactly we became family. Did it happen sometime in the years you refused to acknowledge my existence? Aren't I no longer just the daughter of your brother's mistress?" Becca asked, her gaze never leaving Elizabeth's face. Her aunt's expression was one of faux concern, an expression Becca would have believed once upon a time, a few years ago.

" I never said those words." Elizabeth protested. 

" Not to me but there were your words regardless, aunt Elsa." Becca's voice held zero inflection. Deadpan and straight to the point. " You have ten minutes to tell me what you want?" 

The wrinkles by the corner of Elizabeth's mouths deepened as she scrunched up her nose in distaste. " You can't talk to me like that."

" Can't I?" Becca asked, a brow raised. Her expression barely wavered. " Believe me, this is exactly what you deserve from me." 

After six years of complete silence, this was more than Elizabeth deserved.
