Jedrek raised his head out of surprise, he didn't think that Lilac would answer him in that manner, but before he could utter anything more, Lilac beat him to it. 

"That's a fact. Once I am gone, and the mate bond is snapped, you will not think of me the way you are thinking now or feel the pain as excruciating as you are experiencing now." Lilac raised her head and met Jedrek's gaze with her eyes. "Once all of this was over, we will be nothing to each other, but two people that once got to know each other and then turned into complete strangers. The mate bond was what binding us together, Jedrek..."
