"You said it before," Serefina cut her statement icily and this made the girl look at her with a frown, yet she didn't say anything.
"Continue." Kace sighed tiredly. Serefina's temper was one thing, but if the girl had the same personality as the witch, he was worried how his mate would grow up under their care.
Withdrawing her scowl at Serefina, Lana continued her story, disregarding the witch entirely. "My pack was attacked by vampires one day. My father was the Gamma of the pack and told my mother, my brother and me to leave the house."
Lana's voice trailed off. She stared out of the window as her next words turned into a murmuring sound.
"My brother was a warrior of the pack, thus when he realized that the situation was getting out of hand, he ran into the battle and got killed." Her voice turned gloomier as the story unfolded. "My mother hid me inside a wine barrel, so those vampires wouldn't be able to smell my scent."
