Cincinnati knew something was wrong. Adam was quiet, at least more quiet than usual. And the usual gusto he carried was nowhere to be found. Something was wrong, she just didn't know why.

Maybe my talk affected him?

But it'd been over a week since then, and nothing seemed to have changed until recently. Everything still went as smoothly, until the day the Graveyard was decimated. The smell of burning flesh stuck to their clothes for a while, no matter how many times they washed.

After that day, Adam changed. It wasn't the normal kind, he was no longer brooding and carrying an air of dejection, no. It was a Zen kind of quiet, the type where you'd hear a pin drop from a mile away. He was steadying changing into someone she didn't recognize, and it bothered her a lot.

She had a certain expectation of him, and she didn't expect him to discard his entire personality at the drop of a hat. Yet, he was too quiet.
