After Birth

My eyes finally open, I'm in a room made of dirt. I smell other pups, they are small like me. I am the largest of them all. There is one pup that I am attached to, her name is Paw. She is the runt of the litter. When it's feeding time, I push my other litter mates aside for her to drink mother's milk. When we sleep, she curls up under my chin. My litter mates: Bite, he is the second biggest of the litter, he is more bark then bite though. River, she runs as fast as the river runs, she is kind. Scar, it's like he has no emotions, if you scare, him he won't flinch, if you make a joke, he doesn't crack a smile. Paw, the runt of the litter, we are attached to each other. Then me, Elk, the biggest and strongest of the back, I have a unique fur coat, their is a variety of colors in a cool pattern, my eyes are different colors. Finally mother is back. She has blood in her fur, it smells of a new animal. She lays down for us to feed, the milk smell burst into the den. I shoved in the way of the other pups, I let Paw through.
