Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Twenty years after the rebirth of Ganon as a Moblin, King Hyrule stood before the chief of the Gorons, holding the Golden Triangle of Power, offering it to his stony counterpart.

The chief sat on his chair with the extravagant motifs around his head that gave the impression of unruly hair and beard. He could not help but raise his eyebrows in speechless surprise. "You would trust us to keep it, and not use it?"

The king lowered his hand, but the Golden Triangle remained floating in the air. "Gorons may be as rough and tough as stone, but you are peaceful. Clearly, you know how to wield power well. Rightly."

The Goron chief liked what he heard, and gave a smile of satisfaction. "Well, brother, we accept."

Princess Zelda, standing next to her father, gave a subtle sigh of relief, but the two Gorons standing at either side of the chief's chair cheered with raised arms. The chief stood, approached the Triforce of Power, and picked it off the air between the thumb and index finger of his huge hand to look at it intently. "We are to start construction of a chamber for its safekeeping immediately."

A goron to his side stood at attention and said, "Yes, chief."

"And what would this alliance mean for our peoples?" asked the chief. "What sort of relationship will Gorons and Hylians have from now on?"

"We have much to discuss indeed," the king said. "But my daughter has much to rest, chief. Could she be shown to a room where she may do so?"

"Immediately," the chief said. "You'll have some of the finest and hardest stone beds to rest in, princess."

"About that…" the king looked with slight concern at his daughter.

"It will be fine, father," Zelda said without hesitation.

The king nodded kindly, then turned to Zelda's elderly handmaid, who bowed her hooded head, and spoke.

"My old bones can still endure a few nights on stone, your highness."

The king nodded gratefully. "Very well."

The chief Goron gestured with his head for one of the Goron guards to escort the two Hylian women to their room. They were led out of the audience chamber, and the king and chief continued their talk.

It was night outside. There were three gorons, rolled up as stones, standing guard at the entrance of the cavern that gave access to the Goron city at the foot of Death Mountain.

A noise came from behind them. They all sat up, and looked around, but saw nothing. They curled up again, and continued their duty.

A grunt came.

Before the Gorons could react, the three of them were taken out by invisible club hammers. With that done, the figures of six moblins wielding the hammers appeared out of thin air.

A hooded figure dropped down from the shelf above the cave, and spoke in a cruel, deep voice, "Well done."

He chuckled, the hooded figure, while rubbing his hands one over the other, and repeated, "Well done."

The moblins, proud of themselves, kept quiet, but grunted their smug snickers.
