Chapter 3: Thomas

"Lilly?" Mr. Gordon's voice breaks through your thoughts. You jump and turn around as Mr. Gordon puts a hand on your shoulder.

"Morning! Yes! Mr. Gordon. What can I do for you?"

"Didn't you hear me? I called your name three times?"

"No, sorry, I was just...Did you need something?"

"Yes, I was actually looking for the figures of the Dickson case?"

"I've got it right here, they emailed it through this morning."

"Thank you. Where's Jill today?"

"Oh, I was just about to let you know. The doctor put her on bed rest. So, I'll be shared from today onwards. So treat me good." You give him a nice big smile.

"You know you're worth more than gold...Is the baby in any danger?"

"No, the baby's fine as long as she takes it easy."

"That's good to know. Lilly, if you can't handle the work, please let me know and we'll get a temp, okay? Promise me?"
