Chapter 1: chapter 1
In a city who filled with a technology, there is a lot of tall building decorate the sky. And also a lot of people with smile in their face. It looks like a city of dream. People always said that.
I still remember, when I was a child, our parents decide to move to that city. The city that so called 'city of hope and dream'. We leave our hometown that which we can no longer live on because our planet only depends on a small dwarf star that will lose its light one day.
We move to that city in hope to obtain a better life, and a happy life. But is that really a city of dream and hope?
Ring... Ring...
I woke up by the sound of the alarm. My name is Luna and I am only an ordinary girl without any talent.I looked at my phone and see today is January 21st, which is my boyfriend twenty birthday.
Actually I never imagine that I will have a boyfriend. Because from a child, i'm not that beautiful. I fat and my face have an acne. And since a little I don't know.. What a feeling love is? I only can think it logically.
After I done doing some make up and a lot of things, I start walking out from the apartment.
I see the ad in one of the tall building. It say that this city is a city of dream.
What a funny.. I think. This city is not a city of dream. More likely this is the last place of defense where we still can walking around freely.
I stopped at one of the bakery first to buy a cake. I see there is a strawberry cake that my boyfriend like. I immediately buy that cake. And I get going to my boyfriend apartement.
But but when I got closer to the apartment, I saw my boyfriend standing at the end of his balcony and suddenly threw himself down from there right in front of my eyes.
" Xeon!" I scream at him.
But it's already to late.
I quickly ran over to him. the condition is very bad. A lot of blood came out from his head.
" Why.. Why are you do that? Xeon.. Is there anyone? Can anyone help please!" I scream loudly. But there is no one who come out to help. There a lot of people who watching from their apartmen window, but none of them decide to come out and help.
" Luna.. I'm sorry." I can hear Xeon said that.
" Why? Do you hate me actually?"
" No.. But.. There is a different reason."
Not long after, a man appeared with black hair but there was a hint of white. he looks like he is over 50 years old and wears glasses. There is a lot of people who wear a black suit behind him.
" Well.. Well.. I don't know that he is so brave that he will jump from his own apartment like that.."
" Who are you?"
" Well I don't believe you don't know me. I think I quite popular person." Smile that man.
It's true. I remember ever see his face somewhere.. He said he is quite famous right?
" Are you.. Profesor Redmond?"
" Bingo! I glad you remember huh."
Of course, everyone know who Profesor Redmond is. He is the head of the laboratory in this city. He make a lot of technology.
" You know right that people who age 20 in this country should take a test to look for their talent? Because we are the last remaining safe city in this whole world of Ether. We can't just take anyone."
" So.. Why?.."
" One day you will understand miss.that only a talented people that can remain in this city of dream."
That man is leave just like that. Leaving me while still holding Xeon who is not longer breathing in my arm.
