Chapter 41: Brutal Training All Around (3)

Teaching others is akin to teaching yourself.

Even teaching someone the smallest thing like how to use a tool or how to perform a task teaches you something new. A use of the tool you didn't know about, or the usefulness of a task when brought to a new situation.

You even learn about the positive and negative side-effects of whatever it is you teach about. And that learning spurs further learning. Leaving only further learning in the future.

This was the perfect chance for Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong to learn by themselves instead of being force-fed knowledge from my hands. And such was the same for me, I was teaching thirteen people how to train their bodies properly simultaneously after all, I was bound to learn something that I didn't already know.

But it seems like I was wrong, as the only one's learning right now are these thirteen buffoons who only know how to run a cult.

"Mun Hee! Using your knees isn't allowed! You will do these push-ups like everyone else!"

Mun Hee, the only female executive amongst the thirteen. Although her face was pretty enough to snare any man she wanted, her body didn't meet the same standards. Being flatter than a board in her chest and with overly bulky legs, it would be hard for her to find someone in this day and age.

I hadn't the slightest care for her however. This wasn't some 'Women don't belong on the battlefield" type moment, I genuinely didn't care if she made it through this training or not, nor did I care about the other twelve partaking. But I had to train them regardless of my feelings or lack there of. If the main members of the cult are stronger than the executives, a rebellion will inevitably occur.

"Baek Il! I see you trying to go at a slower pace, do five more push-ups right now!"

Baek Il was clearly the type to skimp out on helping with tasks because they were hard to do physically. If it hadn't been for Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong keeping an eye on them while they ran, I would have assumed he had skipped well over half the laps.

However, these two weren't my main focus. That person was separated from the group about fifty meters away from everyone else. Amongst the thirteen executives, he was the only one to be fat. While the rest of them were either skinny or only slightly chubby, this one was fat enough to be related to a cow.

And he was also the reason why the group had to do four times as much training as they would have done.

First it was Seong Chul who doubled it, but then this one executive, who had prided himself on his ability to eat foods. Had made it to the forest edge after everyone including myself had arrived.

This one's name was Bae Suk, which explained his body size, as his name literally means "Like a rock". But Bae Suk was different from the others, while they grumbled and bickered about the extra training, Bae Suk was serious and hadn't said a word since the training started.

"Bae Suk, since you're the only one who seems to be pushing yourself, I will waive the double training you gave everyone for being late."

Everyone looked on in astonishment, Bae Suk, who had never been any good at physical training, was doing so much better than them that I took away the extra training given because he was late.

Bae Suk didn't bat an eye at this, he just continued doing push-ups as if he was in a trance. I think seeing everyone training might have flipped a switch inside of him, the mental fortitude of a serious man driven by other people is how monsters are usually made.

These 'monsters' are not how you would imagine them to be in some kind of fantasy book. They're still human, but the mindset in which the achived their power will greatly affect what they do or become.

"Who said to stop training! If any of you look at him again I'll give you back the extra training you seem to want so badly."

All twelve other executives snapped their heads and looked down at the ground, not wanting to receive any extra training as they already felt like dying. The entire group's pace had slowed down since ten minutes ago, but now it was at the pace of downloading an app on your phone while on a shitty public Wi-Fi.

I guess they had reached the point of no return, if they continued on from here, they wouldn't be able to move their arms well the next day, but that is what I wanted. In this era, phrases about training are just poems about how much you have to struggle, but in the future, there was one phrase that I heard from anyone who was serious about physical training.

"If you don't work yourself to the point of insanity, you're not working at all! Dig deep and work until you can no longer move!"

Excruciating pain isn't the only way you can be pushed beyond your limits. However, it is the most effective way, as this method can be controlled, while the others come and go at random.

And these buffoons had to deal with two hours of constant pain, swapping to a new workout every fifteen minutes. Bodyweight squats, push-ups, planks, if you can name it, these guys were forced to do it.

And by the end of the two hours, one thing was clear.

Only Bae Suk had the endurance to withstand the first day of training, but even he could barely stand at the end. There was only one notable difference between Bae Suk and the other twelve executives.

Their eyes.

Bae Suk's eyes were like a crystal-clear lake, whilst the other twelve's eyes were muddy and clouded like that of a swamp. The body always craves what it does not have, as the other twelve had been healthy, their bodies didn't want to hone itself further.

But Bae Suk, his body yearned to hone itself. His years of eating and lazing which gained him his fat body wasn't what his body wanted. And now that he had tasted what his body wanted, he received the best and most natural high anyone can achieve.
