"I have no interest in the young master therefore there isn't much advice I can offer you," Annalise replied.
"That's good. I would hate it if you had eyes for the man that I intend to marry since I happen to like you. You are quiet, honest, and I happen to like that your earlier comment about me being beautiful seemed to come from your heart. If not for you being a maid, we would be good friends," said Giselle.
Annalise didn't like the last comment. Why was there such a distance between them simply because she worked cleaning while Giselle was some sort of lady whose family never let her lift a finger?
Though they were from different worlds, Annalise's status at home would place her far above the young woman seated before her. Yet she never held back from making friends with those who would enter her father's home to clean it. There were many times when she joined in to help them clean so they could go out into the fields to play around.
