Chapter 8: The Tables Have Turned III

"Please, Chaos. Don't listen to her, just avenge your mother! Kill those black witches down." MIn Na screamed, shattering his thoughts.

"Drop your sword or I'll cut her head off!"

"No, you waited for so long for this chance to come. Kill them, Chaos. Avenge your mother!"

He shut his eyes. He was facing the biggest dilemma in his life. But Chaos also knew where his loyalty lay. He opened his eyes as he finally made the decision that will seal his fate tonight. He dropped Xavier. The sound of metal hitting the hard floor pierced his ears.

"That's right." The black witch mumbled with satisfaction.

"Kicked it away." She ordered.

He obediently followed the order. Cursing under his breath while he watches the sword slithered from out of his reach, making him bare and susceptible to an attack.

The black witch hurled Eliana to the floor. Her body was too weak to even brace herself from the fall. Her head landed first with a loud thud.

She lay on the floor, unmoving. Chaos was terrified she was dead.

"Eliana! Eliana!" He yelled, trying to wake her up to make sure she's still alive. He ran across the room to where she lay, but a sword pointed at his neck stopped him in his tracks.

"Stop moving or you'll be next, vampire prince." The black witch warned.

Chaos gaze searched the floor and found Xavier. There's no way he could grab the sword before the black witch cut his head off. He gritted his jaw, and with eyes burning with rage, he looked at the black witch. "I'll kill you for this." He hissed, two sharp fangs appeared on the corner of his mouth.

Her high-pitch laughter reverberated inside the room. "You will die first."

"Take him!"

Two men in cloak appeared from the shadows. They removed the hood covering their faces and Chaos saw two pairs of deep blue eyes glowing in the dark!

What the hell! Shape Shifters! He thought in shock. When the hell did shape-shifters and black witches join forces?

Chaos moved to take his sword but before he could take another step, strong muscular hands took him by the arm and he landed face down on the floor. His arms twisted behind his back.

He thrashed and fought for his life, but both men held him still while the black witch slipped a shackle to his wrists.

"Take him outside!" The black witch ordered.

He was damned and probably dead by the next hour. Chaos thought to himself as the shapeshifters dragged him out of the door. .

He passed his lover on the floor. The sight of her lying in a pool of blood shattered his heart to a million pieces.

'I'm sorry, Eli, I couldn't protect you.'

The men dragged him out of the stone house. Behind him, the black witch followed, watching him sharply, making sure he wouldn't escape.

Chaos alone could overpower the two shapeshifters if someone did not shackle him. But the black witch was another problem. He might escape the two men, but the woman trailing behind him could land an instant blow behind him that will kill him in a snap.

He tried to break the shackles with brute force, but his strength wasn't enough to break it. He knew the longer he wore it, the weaker he would become.

Cursed objects like the shackles he wore feed on the energy of whoever touches it, turning them into a weakling. He hadn't been wearing the shackles for long, but he could barely keep up with the shapeshifters. He was drastically losing strength.

By the time they finally emerged from the stone house, Chaos felt so weak, his energy totally drained, as though he hadn't eaten for a month. He stumbled on his feet several times and the shapeshifters haul him on his feet to keep him moving.

Exhaustion made him collapse to the pebbled lawn again and again.

"Get up!" The black witch behind him ordered.

Chaos felt the tip of a sword on his neck. He willed himself to get up, but his knees couldn't keep up anymore and he fell to the ground.

Tired of dragging him around, the shapeshifters hurled him to the ground. His back slammed to the ground with force. He winced and curled on the ground, gritting his teeth tightly from the pain.

From where he lay, he could see the crimson moon looming over him. A foreboding feeling descended on him. He knew he was going to die tonight. The ominous crimson moon told him he will. Only a miracle will help him survive. Hell, he doesn't believe miracles don't exist.

The pain was just subsiding when he received a series of kicks on his stomach. He thrashed on the ground, groaning in agony. When the shapeshifters finished beating him up, they tied him to a tree. The black witch disappeared for a while and when she returned, she had a whip in her hand. The whip was long and filled with pointed thorns.

Slowly, the black witch made her way to the tree where he's tied. She pulled into a stop right in front of him, and she lifted his chin until his eyes focused on her.

"It's playtime, vampire prince." She whispered with a sweet smile on her lips, then landed the first blow that had him grunting in agony.
