Chapter 146: guide

John was just about to stand up after picking the rest of the coins but when he tried to look up, he was greeted by the sight of a big rock, descending as if from the night sky down to his face.

All that John saw after that was the hand holding the same rock that hit him before he completely passed out.

Then the man picked the frail body of the unconscious child and hauled him to his feet. 

He took him somewhere in the shadows going to his place where his things were waiting, ready to do the deed.

John had no idea how long did he passed out but he found himself gasping for breath as soon as he woke up. He though that he just had a bad dream but from the current looks of it, that did not seem to be the case.

"Or was it just a continuation of my nightmare?"
