Chapter 61: Chapter 59- Poison
After hearing Stella's news, Kazuki immediately returned to the Holy kingdom to visit Griffin. He was led to a room where Griffin was lying on the bed. His face was pale and the light in his eyes were fading. His magic power was also depleting.
"Kazuki, I'm glad to see you" he said while forcing his self to smile.
Tears dropped from Kazuki's eyes. Though he met Griffin not too long ago, everything Griffin did for him was sincere. From enrolling him to in the academy to helping him restore Order, all of it was done without any conditions.
His visit right now was nothing compared to everything he has done for him.
Tears slowly rolled down his eyes. In his past life, he was a retard gamer and no one cared for him. His parents would leave his weekly allowance and go back to work. They also barely go home because of business trips. He never felt alone nor sad. He was used to being left since childhood that he grew up and became a loner.
After he was reincarnated, he found friends and people who treated him like family. He also treasured them and protected them from danger. As he stayed longer in this new world, he started to change and cared for others.
"What happened?" Kazuki asked Stella who was standing beside him while wiping her tears.
"He was poisoned using Nevermore extract"
Information about the Nevermore plant was flowing through Kazuki's head. It's a plant with edible fruits that has the power to heal deep wounds but it's leaves' extract it the deadliest poison in that world. A normal person would be dead in 10 seconds but Griffin who is a supreme mage could temporarily stop the poison from spreading using magic. Though he could stop it temporarily, his magic power is still being drained thus, unless a cure is found, he will die.
