'Just 27 magic left.'
Jake walked outside and took a deep breath. He looked around, not sure what he was going to do with the shop now that he was off to go on his quest to the infernal toxin sect, which was one of the closest sects but would take quite a few weeks without a flying sword, especially with the bandits in the area. He stopped by Wai's place and then was planning to go to the black lotus for supplies.
"Wai, are you home?"
"Jake, you're here! It's been almost two months since I've seen you, I thought you were dead."
She gave a giggle.
"Come in. I was just about to have chicken and baijiu."
They sat down at the table as she put a second plate with food with a cup of alcohol in front of him.
"So what brings you to my home today?"
"I'm going on a quest to avenge Shen, so I just came to say goodbye first."
"Alright Jake, how has your cultivation been?"
They sat down and talked for a bit, catching up. He told her about the beast he met in the forest, including the pair of phoenix's.
"You really saw them! I thought everyone was lying. Apparently every part of them is extremely valuable. The meat can increase ki permanently, the feathers and beaks can help when cultivating, and the ashes are super strong in that and alchemy. I guess I can expect some phoenix pills to show up on the black market soon."
"That's super interesting. How do you cultivate with a feather though? I never understood how to use materials when cultivating."
"Oh, you just have to hold the item when you're meditating."
"That reminds me actually, there are weird blocks when I'm cultivating. I think that they are my negative emotions. Is that normal?"
"That's a super easy fix. Mind tempering, clearing, and purifying pills, potions, or powders. They keep us all sane, but can be made pretty easy so they are cheap. Seems I'm your teacher now haha, any more questions?"
"I don't think so, I just don't understand pills very well."
"I can explain them to you, but I'm going to need more drinks first."
It was almost two hours before he actually ended up leaving and going to the auction house. The main things he learned were that in this world pills were the weakest and powders were the strongest, the opposite of his homeworld.
He went through the catalog and spent the rest of the credits. He was given a bag with all of the materials he couldn't store, as well as a backpack filled with all of the survival supplies.
He got 5 mind tempering pills, 5 body tempering pills, 5 mind clearing pills, 40 fasting pills, and a tent. He also got 10 bars of light infused bars, 10 dark infused bars, a black sapphire, and a white sapphire, in preparation for a dark and light craft he was planning to make at some point.
It was almost nightfall by the time he was ready to go, so he decided to cultivate for the night and then head out in the morning. He took a mind clearing pill just to see how it worked, planning to take one of each.

When he was meditating, he could see the pill in front of the ki pool, letting him know that he would have to absorb it, then he could use its effect. He also took a body tempering pill directly after, not sure if the current one would disappear.

It didn't seem to have a limit he could take at a time, but he needed enough time to absorb them before digesting, so he didn't take anymore and grabbed the body tempering pill and began to absorb it within himself. It was a low enough amount that even with the mental blocks he could absorb it, so he did over the nighttime.
He originally thought it would be easy, but that was the problem. It was incredibly boring to slowly dissolve this little pill and do nothing else but stare into the white nothingness. In the cultivation world he was sitting still, and his mind was no different.
He wanted to fall asleep within the first hour but pushed through because of the stats he could go. Jake knew that he would have to work on his patience if he wanted to get further in his cultivation. It eventually ended and gave him his stats for absorbing it, but at that point he really just wanted to do something fun.
But at the same time, he wasn't one to waste resources so he powered through. He quickly absorbed the mind pill and slipped into the golden liquid. With over 200 magic it was pretty easy to start burning through and absorbing all of the ki.

He gave a deep exhale before immediately fainting.
If he could get normal skills he knew that he would have gotten fainting resistance by now. Jake had the weekend free outside of the one dual with Ray, so he decided to call up Lexy for a dungeon. She was already doing one with a few of her party members, so she invited him along.
They were doing a dungeon called [Corrupted Crypt Of The Fallen Warrior]. He did a little bit of research, and easily found that it was mostly low level skeletons, being a trap type dungeon it didn't really need any strong units. Its boss was completely immobile, and also relied on traps as well.
He went down from his room, saying hello to thoughts in the living room on the way. When he arrived, there were two more teammates along with Lexy, Rex and an unknown mecka user, the two of them called Kristena.
She had on a suit of armor about two inches thick all around her body, acting more as armor with weapons than a full mecka. It was a light blue color inside and out, and didn't cover anything on her head.
