Chapter 67: Faults

KAI POV 

Monday 

Taking the stairs one at a time, making sure not to spill the apple juice jug on the tray. It was Monday morning and I started my new school today but first I wanted to greet my mother. Unlike me she didn't have much freedom, my father locked her in the west part of the house, far away from us. She wasn't allowed to leave her room and no one was allowed in, apparently, she was dangerous. Looking down at the breakfast I saw one of my father's men bringing it up, I decided to see her before we left for school. Nodding at the two men placed beside the door for them to open it, they looked uncertain for a second. 

"Open the door," I say hoping they understood some English, most of the people I've met here only spoke Russian.
