"Deirdre, I can't really hear you, the signal is pretty bad," Mrs Smith said. "Is Sarah okay?" MRS smith asked.
"She…had….internal bleeding. They had to operate on her... She's not long come out from surgery," Miss Barrow told mrs smith.
"Is she okay?" Mrs Smith asked.
"They…said she'll be okay. She'll be tired for a few days due…to the amount of medication she is on, but that's to be…expected." Miss Barrow told mrs smith.
"Well that's good news isn't it, that she's going to be fine Hannah's fine as well she has a broken arm, but she'll be ok I don't have any news on the others yet but hopefully, they're okay," MRS Smith told miss barrow.
"There was a surgery…complication, they had to remove her womb. She can never…have her own children and I don't know How am I meant to explain that to her" Miss Barrow said.
"0h Deirdre I'm so sorry about that, I can help you tell her if you would like me too It's probably best to tell her in a few days when she's feeling better she's undergone a big operation so it's probably best to give her some time to rest" MRS Smith told miss barrow.
"Thanks for the offer, but it has…to come from me just don't know…how to tell her I don't even know if she wanted kids, but it just…seems so cruel that she gets the opportunity and that chance…taken away from her, I know she can adopt, but she…might not see it that way she might be…angry because she…can never have her own kids…she never has the option now" miss barrow told mrs smith.
"I'm sorry for what's happened but I'm glad she's alive. As soon as I know anything about the others, I'll let you know," Mrs Smith told miss barrow .
"That Will be great, thanks, she's…already been asking about them," Miss Barrow said.
"Same with Hannah she woke up for sure while but then she fell back to sleep, she was tired due to the medication for her arm but that didn't stop her asking about the other" Mrs Smith told miss barrow.
"They really are inseparable…aren't they" Miss Barrow said.
"Yes, I don't think anything can ever break the friendship that these four girls have," Mrs Smith said A smile appearing on her face.
"It's good…you need friends…like that in life," Miss Barrow told mrs smith.
A doctor then comes up to Mrs Smith to ask her some question's.
"I'm sorry Deidre, I have to go. I need to talk to a doctor. I'll speak to you in a bit. When Sarah wakes up, tell her Hannah is going to be ok, and I hope she feels better soon" Mrs Smith told miss barrow.
"I will, thank you," Miss Barrow said.
Mrs smith gets off the phone and to talk to the doctor.
"My name is doctor Matthews I was just wondering if Hannah has any allergies? We just wanted to make sure before we give her any extra medication for the pain in her arm" doctor Matthews asked.
"She's allergic to mistletoe, but that's it," MRS Smith told doctor Matthews.
"Okay that's fine there is definitely no mistletoe in the medication we just have to make sure as we get numerous people in here each day and many allergies, so we like to make sure there's nothing that the patient is allergic to in the medicine before we give it to them." doctor Matthews told mrs smith.
Mrs Brown and doctor Matthews then go into the room and some more medication he's made up ready for Hannah to have when she wakes, Mrs Brown sits down next to her husband.
"What did Deirdre say, is Everything okay with Sarah?" Mr Smith asked.
"She had internal bleeding. She has had surgery which went successful but there was a complication. She's alive, and she's going to be okay, but she can never have her own children and Deidre doesn't know how to tell her" Mrs Smith explained.
"Sarah will probably be upset by the news Do you want to go to Deirdre and sit with her? I'll stay here with Hannah," Mr Smith offered.
"I offered, but she said that she's going to tell Sarah herself and that it would be better coming from her, if she needs me, she Will ring me and once Hannah is given the all clear to leave I'll take her to see Sarah if she's still here that will probably cheer her up," MRS Smith said.
"most likely, I don't think anything could stop them 2 from being friends. It's been 10 years since They became friends, and they're still going strong. " mr. Smith said "Is there any update on the others?" Mr Smith Asked.
"No, not yet, and Hannah is going to want to know what's going on and if they're OK when she wakes up, and I'm worried about them. The other two were trapped for much longer, so they could be worse off," Mrs Smith told mr smith.
"Well, let's think positive, and then hopefully, everyone will be fine," Mr Smith told mrs smith.
"Yes, hopefully," MRS Smith agreed.
The only thing Mr and Mrs Smith could hear in the room filled with silence was the beeping of the heart machine that was monitoring Hannah's heartbeat and the distant chatter of nearby nurses.
Mrs Smith couldn't help herself from feeling worried about the others she blamed herself for not getting to the beach sooner if she had gone sooner, maybe Sarah and Hannah would not have been injured as badly.
