Chapter 9: A forgotten love

Mr. Nicholai was at his study when Recce arrived. He was going through the last updated pictures from the detective. He was now convinced that his grandson has a girlfriend.

'Hi grandfather, how are you feeling today.' Recce said while entering the study room.

'Am fine, i have never felt so young in my life.' He replied

'That's the way to go grandpa'. He responded while they both laughed.

His mother went to the study room , when she heard the noise in the study room and found out that her son was around.

' What are you guys laughing about.' She asked. While heading towards where her son was, hugging him.

'It seems nowadays you are very busy with the hotel you hardly come to visit or call to check up on me.' She said disappointedly.

' Yes i have been very busy nowadays , but i will create time to come and visit you guys more often.' He said sweetly.

' When am i going to meet the infamous girlfriend of yours?' His mother asked.

' I would also want to meet her my future granddaughter.' Mr. Nicholai said.

' Bring her on Sunday for lunch.' He added.

'Alright i will bring her for lunch, do i have a choice anyway.' Recce replied.

Outside Svetlana' s office, Mika's car was packed outside. He was too ashamed to go into her office. He just wanted to see her from a far.

'Mitchell! Cancel all my appointment for the rest of the evening. Am going out.' Svetlana told her personal assistant while exiting the office.

She was going to visit her mother, who she hasn't seen for quite some time now.

Svetlana's was walking out of the elevator towards the exit of the building, her car was already packed outside. Mika saw her getting into the car and drove away. He decided to follow her.

Behind them was the detective hired by Mr. Nicholai following Svetlana. He noticed that she was being followed.

She reached at her mother's place, both the detective and Mika were also packed far from house. The detective took photos of Mika's car licence number.

That evening Mr. Carson arrived at Mr. Nicholai's home with photos of the latest updates of Svetlana.

' There is a man following her around and the vehicle he is driving is registered to Mika Dimitri.' Said Mr. Carson.

' Who is he?' Asked Mr. Nicholai

' He is the son of Catherine Anatoly the renowned fashion designer, apparently they used to be in a relationship.' Which ended in chaos. He added.

' What does he want from her now?' He asked looking at Mr. Carson with a puzzled expression.

' Tell the detective to keep following her, this getting interesting. I want to know what he wants from her?'said Mr. Nicholai.

The following day in the morning Mika arrived outside Svetlana's house, he packed his car across the street. Moments later Recce car arrived.

' What's Recce doing here?' He thought out loud.

Recce got out and leaned on the car, few moments later Svetlana and her son came out. The boy ran and hugged him. Recce and Svetlana hugged too and he kissed her on the cheek.

Mika could not believe what he was seeing. He got angry but did not approach them. Instead he decided to follow them. His thoughts were running wild about the whole scenario he has just witnessed. He wanted to confirm if they are in a relationship.

They arrived at the zoo where Recce was taking them. Kith could not believe it.

'Mum look at that giraffe over there.' He shouted happily

' Thank you for bring us here, especially him, he has been asking me when can i take him to the zoo. I have been busy with work lately.' She said smiling.

'Oh, its nothing, its my pleasure.' Recce replied.

He took her hand and they continued walking. While Kith was in front of them very excited as they walked around the zoo.

They did not notice that they were being followed by two men, Mika and the detective. When Mika saw how they were holding hand and been too friendly to each other, he made his own conclusion that they are lovers. He stopped tailing them and decided to wait for Svetlana at her place.

The detective continued following them and he took more photographs of the trio having fun at the zoo.

While Kith was feed the birds with other kids, they got time to talk alone.

' My grandfather has invited us for lunch tomorrow? They want to meet you. I mean him and my mother.' Said Recce.

' I don't think am ready to meet them yet.' She replied.

' Don't worry i will be with you all the time.' He said while caressing her face giving her assurance.

' Its fine then.' She muttered.

' I will come and pick you so that we can arrive together.' He concluded.

Recce went and picked up Kith and carried him on his shoulders. The boy was happy, he has never had a fatherly before.

'Do you want to go see the aquarium champ?' He asked the boy.

' Yes lets go!' He replied happily.

They went into the aquarium, they took pictures, it was the biggest in the city. They spent a whole hour in there. Their was a lot of different animal species in there.

Later Recce took them to have lunch, then he dropped them back at Svetlana's place. When he left , Mika got out of his car and went to the front door and rang the bell. The door was opened.

' Longtime, Svetlana. How have you been?' He asked sarcastically

' What are you doing here?' She asked back.

' I still love you and am sorry for how i handled our relationship back then.' He said

' It's okay buts its the past now'. She replied

' You need to live now am busy. She added.

He seemed unsatisfied with the way she was responding to him but he decided not to cause a scene.

' Okay am leave but i be will seeing you around.' He said leaving

Svetlana had mixed reactions about Mika showing up at her door step. Before she had wanted so much for him to come back to her but now she wished he hadn't. On the other hand there was Recce's family that she has to meet them pretending to be his girlfriend.

The detective took photos of their encounter .
