The two boys sat side by side, but neither of them spoke a word to the other. Scott had been trying to ignite a conversation with his friend since the beginning of recess, but Eddie wasn't really reciprocating the same energy. Scott knew it was his fault Eddie was like this. His friend had confided in him with his biggest secret, yet here he was hiding a way smaller one. He owed Eddie the truth.
"What do you want to know?" Scott asked, and for the first time since recess Eddie turned around to face his friend.
"Are you ready to talk now?" Eddie asked for confirmation. He didn't want to waste his time on a conversation that wasn't related to what he currently had in mind.
"You only get to ask one question" Scott returned.
"What's your deal with the new girl? Don't tell me you have a thing for her now?"
"You only get an answer to your first question. She's been visiting me, and I kinda invited her into my house" Scott revealed.
"You did what? Were you compelled into letting her in, what the hell were you thinking?!" Eddie questioned abrasively.
"Keep your voice down" Scott ordered in a loud whisper . "I wasn't compelled, she just seemed different, she hasn't harmed anybody" He confirmed.
"And how sure are you, did she tell you or you know this because you turned her?" Eddie was being sarcastic, as well as savage. He just found it appalling that his friend would let a vampire into his house simply because it said it was good. Hasn't Scott been listening to all him and Jade had to say about those creatures.
They were masters of deceit, and rarely spoke the truth. It was obvious this vampire wanted something from Scott, and the dumb boy was playing along with her games.
"I don't know, she just seems like a nice person" Scott defended.
"And this morning, why were you acting all tensed and suspicious, did she say something to you?"
"I said one question, you'll have to wait another time" Scott reminded.
He had probably said enough for today. If he proceeds to tell Eddie that Nicole had threatened to harm his parents, then it would be over for the vampire girl. It wasn't as if he cared for her or liked her in a romantic way or anything, he just didn't want her to die, yet.
Eddie still had more questions he wanted to ask, but he decided to obey his friend's decisions. He knew Scott still had a lot to say, and was probably defending the vampire for some reason. Eddie had no idea why his best friend would be so invested in someone he met just few days ago, something was definitely up.
The loud ringing signified the end of recess, and it had everybody was streaming out of the cafeteria. Eddie hadn't realized that Stewie had been eyeing him throughout the entire time he discussed with Scott. It was now that he'd just spotted the bully glaring at him from behind. He raised a hand to greet the glaring vampire, but it disappeared into the crowd of students before Eddie could wave.
"Who're you waving at?" Scott inquired after he'd turned back and found nobody behind them.
"Stewie" Eddie replied
"So you're friends now? You haven't told me how your showdown went"
"It's not really something I can discuss at the moment. You'll have to wait till after classes"
Eddie took another glance around to know if he'll see the bully, but the boy was gone for good. They'll just have to meet after school as Stewie demanded.

"Are you sure he didn't forget, I mean he's not especially bright" Jade remarked after thirty minutes of waiting for the bully to show up. She was doing her best not to think about the fact that Scott had left with his new vampire friend immediately after school. She needed something to distract her from those thoughts, and this was it.
"Ten more minutes, and if he's not here we're leaving" Eddie pleaded. He would have left a long time ago if it wasn't for the tension that had built up in his mind. He wanted to be done with this meeting and Stewie Grant. The two of them were just not meant for each other.
It had barely been a minute more when Stewie's structure appeared from behind the building in front of them. He came alone this time without his henchmen, and the two siblings considered this odd. As Stewie got closer, Jade raised her defenses subconsciously, and had let her aura leak out without knowing.
Eddie immediately flashed her an eye that informed her not to lose her cool. It didn't look like the bully meant trouble this time around. He looked almost like he was in trouble. They shouldn't jump to conclusions without any reasonable information.
"I'm not here to fight" Stewie confirmed with his hands up in the air. "I came to ask for a favor"
