Chapter 23: Virtue

Destiny's POV

"Did you change your mind?" Pia asked right after she picked up my call, and I could feel my face turning crimson as I hesitated to answer her question.

"I don't know. Can we meet?" I asked.

"Sure, I will be leaving this afternoon; we have all morning to plan it," she responded excitedly, and my friend was sure I would be doing it.

I quickly went to the bathroom after I ended the call and faced the mirror for a long time. So many questions running through my head.

What if Red would reject me? It would be a big slap on my face, and I shook my head as I took the razor. Pia texted me a lengthy message on how to prepare myself, one of which was shaving my legs and underarms.

But I didn't need shaving since I had no hair in my underarms, and the hair on my legs wasn't visible, but when I read the part I should shave my private part between my legs, my entire body suddenly felt hot.

I blinked my eyes, walked towards the shower, and twisted the shower valve, slowly controlling the water flow and the temperature. The warm water dripping on my skin calmed my mind, and I started doing the ritual with the razor. I was so surprised by the result that I couldn't stop giggling.

I felt so fresh as I dried my hair and inhaled the fragrance of my lavender shampoo and conditioner; I even used my favorite body wash, which became his favorite, too, because every time I used it, Red couldn't stop telling me I smelled so good.

"Am I really doing it?" I asked myself after I put on my above-the-knee dress with a plunging neckline showcasing my ample cleavage. The lovely floral dress hugged my body in all places, and I felt so sexy.

I asked Daria to buy something in the market since I didn't want her to see me like this and give her the impression I was going back to our house. I always wore a dress while living in our mansion, but after being kicked out, I wore jeans and an ordinary blouse.

I wondered what had happened to all my clothes. Did Carmie throw them away? I hope they are still in my closet and my personal things.

I applied light makeup and couldn't stop wondering why I needed to put on sexy lingerie when it should have been discarded during foreplay or whatever. I am no longer a teenager, but I still couldn't imagine myself being naked in front of a man.

"Whoa! Destiny, you looked so beautiful and gorgeous; I am sure Red would be drooling over you." Pia said the moment she met me, and my face turned red with her compliments.

"Thank you, but I am not comfortable wearing heels anymore," I responded, and she snorted.

"It looks good on you, and no doubt you are an heiress even if you are living in a small house; the way you carry yourself couldn't be ignored, and I am sure even if you were wearing a rag, your beauty would still standout, Destiny." She declared, and my face flushed even more.

"Now, what should I do?" I asked, tensed.

"You have to relax; you will go to Red's office and tell him what you want." She replied, and my pupils dilated as I looked at her, horrified.

"I can't tell him, Red; please come and sleep with me. I don't think I can do that," I answered with anxiousness.

"You are not going to tell him that; you tell him you came to say goodbye and asked him if he could have lunch with you for the last time as a thank you for his help. Tell him you got the result, and you accepted defeat." She stated.

"Red has a busy day, Pia; he can't have lunch with me," I complained.

"Then just go to his office and lock the door so no one can get inside and undress your dress in front of him; I am sure he will never say no to you," she responded, and I was gaping at her with mortification, and then she laughed so hard that I could see tears in her eyes.

"You looked so adorable right now, Destiny," Pia added while I was still looking at her with fright.

"I was only kidding; I know you will never do that," she continued.

"I am sorry; I know how much you value your virtue, and to tell you honestly, I don't know what kind of advice I should give you at this point." My friend said with defeat in her eyes.

"As long as you remember the purpose of meeting with him, everything will fall into place. Flirt with him if you have to; you were his first serious girlfriend. I am sure you know what his weakness was." Pia added, and I was so lost in words.

"I will come with you, and I think we should leave now. If you can't have him today, don't surrender," she stated as she dragged me out of the cage where we met.

"Red has his own principle, and I don't think he will have me," I softly mumbled.

"Hey, give yourself some credit. Have you seen those men? They couldn't take their eyes off you; you are absolutely beautiful; Red is so lucky to capture your heart." She said, exaggerating everything.

"Pia, I don't love him anymore," I replied, and she only shrugged as we left the cafe.

"I don't think I can do this," I mumbled, sensing my legs quivering as we stood in front of my father's company.

"Of course, you can," Pia responded as she pushed me, and I almost stumbled into the ground.

"Destiny, what are you doing here?" My entire world was spinning as I heard Red's cold voice from behind me before I could take the front steps.

"Oh, trouble in paradise," Pia whispered before she disappeared into thin air while I was trying to compose myself before I turned around and faced him.

"Hi, Red!" I slowly pivoted and greeted him with the sweetest smile I could ever give him.

Red's face flushed, and I saw how his eyes flickered as I batted my eyelashes at him, but he quickly recovered by pursing his lips and creasing his forehead as he cocked his head at me.

"Why are you here?" He asked sternly, but it didn't skip from my eyes how his heated gaze skimmed my body.

"I wanted to see you," I sweetly responded, ignoring his angry stare.

"I told you I don't want to see you anymore," he hissed as he came closer to me.

"I came to say goodbye for the last time, and for old time's sake, I hope you won't disappoint me," I answered, and I had to grip my bag to keep myself from snapping at him.

"You may go now; you already said your goodbye," he dismissed me as he avoided my eyes.

"I won't leave unless you will come with me. I need to tell you something before we leave; Daria was already at the airport terminal waiting for me. I only needed a little of your time. Please, Red," I begged, and I could see how anxious he was as he looked around as if he was looking for something.

"I couldn't believe how hard-headed you can be. I had a hearing, and I needed to go back; I just needed some documents. That is why I came back." He said.

"Okay, I am sorry for disturbing you, Red," I replied, turned my heels, and walked away from him before he could say anything.

I hastily walked towards the parking lot and looked for Red's car. I already made a fool of myself and am not going home unless I have him.

"Pi!" I shrieked and almost jumped to my feet when I found Pia standing so close to me as I searched the entire parking lot for Red's car.

"You scared me!" I yelled at her.

"Relax, I couldn't leave you unless you are in the arms of your smoking hot ex-boyfriend," she responded, wearing a big smile on her face.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Of course, I am here to help you." She said with a wide grin.

"You don't even know which car he used today, right?" She asked, and I nodded my head.

"Well, thanks to me, I am more resourceful than you are." She responded as she took my wrist and pulled me with her going to the opposite side.

"How did you know this was his car?" I asked as we stood in front of a white SUV, and she just smiled at me as she came closer to the driver's side with a lock pin kit in her hands.

"Hey, what are you doing, Pia?" I asked as I yanked her hand, but she quickly returned to what she was doing.

"You need to be inside this car before he comes back," my friend responded while I started to panic.

"I didn't want to go back to jail for carnapping," I replied as I felt so nervous that someone might see us. I wished to run, but I couldn't leave Pia, and I didn't want her to be in trouble because of me again.

"No one is going to jail except your enemies, Des, and we are not carnapping your ex's car. I want to put you inside to ensure he won't leave without you." Pia declared.

"Destiny, what is the meaning of this?" Red's booming voice almost made me faint, and I was hopeful he didn't see Pia as she crawled down hastily into the ground under his car. I hoped she made it out before Red could find her. My face paled as I turned around and met Red's angry stare.
