Chapter 63: No soul

Destiny's POV

I was holding my breath as I waited for the bullet to hit my body, and everything that happened in my life came rushing before me—the betrayal of my family and friends and the sweet memories I had with Red.

I vividly remember how much I enjoyed my time at Thomas' farmhouse. I wished I had another chance to live my life as an ordinary individual, where I could enjoy the simplicity of life and be free of drama.

My entire frame shook when I heard the deafening sounds of the shooting of the guns. I could listen to the painfully cracking sound of the bullets passing my ear, and then a total silence followed.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven without feeling the pain since they said other people wouldn't feel anything after being shot.

"Am I dead?" I asked in more than a whisper. I was too scared to open my eyes.
