Chapter 59: Last Chance

Destiny's POV

I was startled when I heard the abrupt opening of the door. Then, I listened to the loud noise, like something had been dropped on the floor. When I opened my eyes, I saw Fabian lying on the floor, groaning in pain.

Then the door opened again, and Bruno came inside. He put bottled water on the floor and hastily walked out the door without a word. I crawled to get the water because I felt thirsty and could even feel the dust in my mouth.

"Oh my goodness! What happened to you?" I asked when I came closer to Fabian and saw his face was covered in blood, and there were bruises all over his face and arms. His eyes were swollen with black circles around them.

"They beat me; Carmen found out I wanted to help you. But she didn't know Red was my contact. I was being careful since Red wanted to retain his good connection with Carmen since we needed to help your father." He responded in between his moans.
