Chapter 73: Failed Mission

Destiny's POV

I was startled when I heard the loud pounding on my door, and I didn't want whoever outside to find out Red was lying naked inside my room. I quickly put on my robe, walked towards the door, and opened it a little. I peeked and found Daria standing in front of my bedroom with her arms crossed over her chest.

"It seemed you had forgotten to set your alarm clock; you only had thirty minutes to get ready." She said with disappointment. I blushed when I realized we needed to leave early to prepare for Hallie's piano recital at the town capital. The Gordons booked us a hotel in town, and I couldn't disappoint her.

"I will be ready in thirty minutes, Daria," I replied.

"Why do you look like you're hiding something?" she asked, and my face turned bright red.

"I am not hiding anything. I just woke up and didn't want you to see the clutter inside my room. I didn't get the chance to tidy up last night." I lied without opening the door wider.
