Chapter 85: [85 - Lies and Deception]

With a heavy, guilt laden heart, Elijah walked into Mia's hospital room, his heart breaking at the sigh of her unconscious form. She had bandage wrapped around her forehead. Tears welled up in his eyes as he approach her bedside.

Elijah could not help but feel partially responsible for Mia's state. How could he not realize that she had feelings for him? How could he not think of her when he claims that she is his best friend. 

"I am so sorry, Mia." he whispered, his voice breaking as he felt choked up with emotions, "I did not know." he pulled the stool and sat on it, taking Mia's hand in his.

"I really did not know about your feelings for me, I swear I never meant for any of this to happen." even though he knew that Mia would not be able to hear him but still Elijah wanted to apologize for unintentionally breaking her heart.
