Vanessa Aria stomped on the brakes as her senses returned, the car wheels scraping hard against the ground, screeching to a harsh halt.

Her hands, gripping the wheel, started trembling subconsciously. A thin sheen of cold sweat appeared on her forehead as her startled eyes slowly regained focus.

She had almost killed someone.

Several schoolchildren were terrified by the ordeal, and instinctively turned to look at the person who had just saved them.

The person rubbed their arm, then sat up, shaking it gently. The slight "crack" sound sent chills down the spines of the onlookers.

They stood up, as if nothing had happened, and started walking towards the children.

"Are you all okay?"

The voice was pleasant, belonging to a woman, but she was wearing a mask and her face was not visible.

She squatted down and examined the children. They were all fine, except for one little boy who had skinned his palm.

"Does it hurt?"

The boy shook his head, "No, you saved us. Is your arm hurt?"
