Normally, third-year disciples who enter the Spiritual Realm would need to register their breakthroughs with the Academy to become an Apprentice Elder and receive new identity jade slips. They would also be moved to the Inner Academy where the Elders' courtyards were.
However, with the rumor of changes coming soon, that might not be the case with newly registered Spiritual Realm disciples.
