ONCE THEY STOP AT THE MAIN STAGE OF THE FESTIVAL, she is restless. The main stage is huge, about quarter the size of a football pitch and people can gather round it to watch various students present their music projects.

However, Aubrey cannot focus on the explanation Mrs. Russo is currently giving her. After seeing that smirk, she cannot decipher what Kai's next move will be. She shouldn't have brought him here, but she couldn't leave him home alone, that is twice worse since he would be miles away from her.

"Aubrey. Are you listening to me?"

Aubrey snaps her attention back to the professor. She tries to speak but her voice sounds cracked and her throat feels tight. "Yeah, I am. Just a little parched."

Mrs. Russo immediately grabs a water bottle from a nearby table, handing it to her student. "Oh no that shouldn't happen. You need your voice for your performance."
