"How did I manage to get sick that fast?"
Takei got home and subsequently took a nap under the heater instead of taking a shower which resulted in him catching a cold and having to stay home from school the next day.
His mother, Flora Tanaka, was displeased that Takei went home without an umbrella until she heard of his explanation as to why. Soon after listening, she continued to poke fun at him for the entire day.
"When can I expect grandchildren?"
"We're not like that..."
Takei tried his best to deny the accusations, but his efforts proved fruitless.
"Yuuto may be on a business trip right now, but I have no doubt that he would also be begging for grandchildren if he were here."
The "Yuuto" that his mother mentioned was his father's name. At the current moment, his father was on a business trip since he also happened to be a very famous doctor that was needed at many locations. On the other hand, his mother became a housewife since there was no need to work for money if her husband could easily provide for the family.
This left her with an extraordinary amount of time at home that she could make use of whenever she finished all of her daily tasks such as cleaning or making food.
"I'm lucky Dad isn't here... this could've been much worse."
Flora was already a very mushy person when it came to children, but Yuuto was just a notch above her when it came to children. He adored them so much that he wanted to have a whole soccer team worth of kids, but Flora made him compromise on two children since there would be too much stress on her body to bear that many children.
As such, only Takei and his sister Airi were born as a result. Airi was currently over at her friend's house to hang out with them. Flora left earlier in the morning to go buy groceries which left him alone at the house with only his thoughts to accompany him.
The house his family lived in was no big mansion and neither was it a small shack, it was safe to say that the house was very average for a four person family in the suburbs. Flora insisted on a moderate sized house since there wasn't going to be that many people living in it and the medium sized house would've made cleaning an easier task for her.
"Ah... I should've asked her to bring me some cake. Cake sounds great right now."
Takei reflected on his foolish mistake of forgetting to ask his mom for some treats to help him recover.
At that moment of reminiscence, the doorbell to his house rang.
"Who could it be? It couldn't be Mom or Airi and it's the middle of the day so I can't imagine it's anyone super important..."
Takei expressed displeasure at having to get up to open the door, but in the end he decided that his body needed some movement so he went downstairs to open the door.
Since he was sick, Takei only had his pajamas on which consisted of a t-shirt and shorts. This was usually fine for a sick person, but future Takei would soon regret his actions.
Takei finally reached the entrance of his home and opened the door to reveal an angelic shining light that presented a literal goddess awaiting him on the porch of his house.
The goddess in question was Akari Akazawa and she was now standing right in front of him with a distance of less than a hair's breadth.
