Chapter 54: Rivals, Shadows, and Noble Fools

Today is the day of the advancement ceremony and the entrance ceremony. I've officially become a second-year student at the Magic Academy. And, as expected, Prink hasn't dropped out.

Instead, my half-brother, Wisebel, has joined the academy.

Wisebel is thin, with sharp, fox-like eyes. He resembles his mother more than our father, whereas Prink inherited our father's features. As the ceremony concluded, Wisebel made his intentions clear.

"I won't lose to you, Raido."

"I couldn't care less about a noble title. If I serve as an Honorary Hero for a few years, I'll probably earn one anyway."

"Even so, as long as you're on our father's mind, I'm not just your rival. I'm your sworn enemy."

His words were harsh, almost biting. I could see that, deep down, his ambitions were set on the title.

"Do as you please," I replied.
