Chapter 90: ch90- Ultimate Onslaught

As Alex thought things through, he realized that the monsters couldn't unleash those terrifying skills endlessly. Once he survived the initial wave of attacks, the difficulty of conquering the Sky Fortress had significantly decreased.

With that realization, Alex relaxed, deactivating his **Ultimate Mode** and flying out of the gate to find Emma. She had been waiting anxiously outside, and when Alex returned with a grin, she could hardly believe it.

"So, you're saying the monsters inside are... useless now?" Emma asked in disbelief.

Alex shrugged, slightly disappointed but still serious. "Only some of them. From what Ethan told us, monsters in R-level resource points are a hundred times more numerous than in N-level ones. The ones we saw at the gate barely made up 1% of their numbers. But you can come inside and have a look now. Just be ready to run if anything goes wrong."

Curiosity got the better of Emma. Though she was still nervous, she bravely followed Alex into the Sky Fortress. The breathtaking sight inside stunned her, despite Alex having described it earlier. It was truly a place that, in peaceful times, would have been one of the world's most famous landmarks.

Just as Alex had mentioned, there were some massive monsters nearby. Their strength was likely on par with elite creatures from N-level resource points, but Alex easily slaughtered them, as if they were nothing. No danger arose.

"You stay here. I'm heading toward that mountain," Alex told Emma again, warning her to flee if anything seemed off. With his **Ultimate Mode** still active, Alex took off toward the mountain at the center of the lake, gripping his blue sword.

However, he barely made it to the lake when a massive crimson monster, resembling a carp the size of a car, launched itself from the water and unleashed a terrifying explosion aimed directly at Alex.

With his full set of divine gear and his life points practically maxed out, Alex didn't hesitate. He raised his sword and swung toward the incoming blast of blue light.

"Boom!"

From her position at the entrance, Emma saw the entire scene unfold. The blue shockwave rebounded off Alex's sword, enveloping the attacking monster. The explosion that followed was like a meteor crashing into the lake, sending water high into the sky.

When the water finally settled, not only was the monstrous carp gone, but several other creatures in the vicinity were also wiped out in the blast.

Seeing the sheer destruction, Emma's legs trembled. These monsters weren't using ordinary attacks—they wielded powers that felt like they had the destructive force of missiles or forbidden magic.

Realizing what could happen if several monsters released such abilities at once, Emma began to understand how the previous players Ethan spoke of had met their end.

As for Alex, who could reflect the monsters' attacks back at them, "overpowered" didn't even begin to describe him. He was in a league of his own.

Laughing triumphantly after his successful counter, Alex charged toward the center of the lake with renewed confidence.

The creatures in the lake were countless. Alex's presence was like a drop of water hitting a scorching pan, causing the entire lake to boil over with enraged monsters, all descendants of the **Sky Eel** bloodline, surging toward him.

But in **Ultimate Mode**, Alex's life points increased by 300,000 every 10 seconds. His strength and agility tripled at the same rate. With his SR-grade maxed-out stats, he became an unstoppable force. No matter if the monsters were ten meters long or towering over thirty meters, they all fell with a single strike of his glowing golden spear.

Although Alex couldn't trigger his **Sword Counter** skill with every attack, the few times the monsters managed to land explosive hits barely scratched him. Under the protection of **Ultimate Mode**, the stronger the enemy's attack, the faster his attributes increased. The more damage he took, the faster he grew stronger.

Within a minute, Alex's stats had multiplied by over tenfold, and his life points neared 3 million.

Each of Alex's devastating blows wasn't any weaker than the explosive skills of the monsters. His spear slashed out waves of golden dragon fire over ten meters long, warping the very space around his attacks with sheer power. And when his **Sword Counter** did trigger, the unfortunate monsters' skills were reflected back at them, obliterating them on the spot.

Even when his counter didn't trigger, Alex's attacks were so overwhelmingly powerful that he could easily cut through the blue shockwaves of their abilities, negating their damage and instantly killing the creatures who had unleashed them.

From her vantage point on the shore, Emma was left in complete shock as she watched explosion after explosion erupt from the middle of the lake. The once calm waters had been torn apart by the carnage, and it felt like witnessing a barrage of missiles crashing into the lake over and over again.

For the first time, Emma truly saw just how terrifying Alex's strength was. She fell into deep contemplation. Was this really the same person she had spent so much time with? Could he be an alien? Or perhaps Alex had come from another world entirely, someone like a Saiyan from Planet Vegeta, a superhuman in disguise?

Or maybe Alex was simply playing an entirely different game from the rest of them.

No matter how she looked at it, it didn't make sense. How could someone who spent every day with them have this kind of power?

It was beyond explanation.

Seeing that Alex wasn't being overwhelmed and was instead wiping out monster after monster, Emma's initial fear slowly turned into a deep sense of awe... and maybe even frustration. How could Alex, who had always been ahead of the curve, be this absurdly strong?

At this point, it felt like he was playing with cheat codes. And this resource point? It wasn't designed for humans to conquer. It was a death trap filled with monsters, all wielding terrifying skills from the **Sky Eel** bloodline. How was anyone expected to survive here?

Only someone like Alex, a freakishly overpowered being, could handle it.

While Emma was silently ranting to herself, Alex had already reached the mountain in the center of the lake. His speed had become so extreme that he left afterimages in his wake. Despite the vastness of the lake, Alex tore across it like a bullet, cutting through the swarm of monsters as if they weren't even there.

In this nightmare of a resource point, Alex truly moved like a god among men.
