Chapter 219: This is going to hurt

The trio were in one of the abandoned rooms on the other side of the palace. A room Esme hadn't been to and could see why now. Unlike the rest of the place, this was not spotless, nor did it have luxury furniture; it was a large room that used to be some sort of a gallery. The walls had gone darker from where paintings had been hung and now had soot-covered splodges that looked like little explosions had been set loose. Blue and golden markings were also scattered across the floors and walls, many of which had been purposely smudged to break the spell. 

Long oxblood red, tattered curtains remained open, the windows revealing the cliffside and the crescent moon shining above it. The sky seemed to cry as the waves crashed angrily against the rocks, and a flash of lightning brightened the gloomy room and the warlock standing in the middle of it. His hand was towards Esme, beckoning her to come to him.
