Chapter 255: Taste of Vengeance (9)

Scarlett's heels clicked against the tiled floors of her villa. Others of the small clan she'd built since Kari's imprisonment were at the 'masquerade ball'. Her residence was peaceful and quiet, exactly how she liked it.

Being in a clan was tiresome and mostly bothersome. Scarlett only had the other vampires to keep up appearances. If her master was ever released, Kari would throw a hissy fit if all she'd built remained in ruins while her childe lazed around.

With a relieved sigh, Scarlett removed her heels and shrunk a few inches. Horace, one of Scarlett's guards, accepted them and followed her through the lavish halls, up the large staircase and to her overly large and glamorous bedroom.

"Are you okay, mistress?" Fox, the other guard, asked, eying her bloodstained gown.

Was she okay? Not really. "I'm fine." Scarlett waved him off, and Horace ordered him to check on the CCTV while he put Scarlett's heels into the walk-in wardrobe.
