Chapter 1: Prologue

To Rachel, Violence was an archaic concept. There was no point to life if one chased death. Despite this, it was impossible to seperate Rachel from Violence.

Her role as General of the 4th army of the Dive Kingdom made her life one of violence, and strife.

Rachel was on duty at the watchtower as she surveyed the plains before her, before hearing her name get called, causing her to turn and see one of her subordinates, Kyler, walking to her, handing her a box.

"Heard you had a long duty today, thought you'd want some food to eat." Kyler said with a smile, Rachel smiling too as she thanked the older man.

"How's Jeannette and the kids?" Rachel asked as she looked through the box, taking out some fruit.

"Jeannette's fine, the kids are growing so fast, I swear they'll outgrow me soon!" Kyler commented, chuckling as he looked back at the row of houses with a forlorn gaze.

"Well, I won't disturb you anymore general, enjoy the food!" Kyler said, saluting before heading back to his post.

Rachel smiled, biting into an apple as the thoughts of war plagued her.

Rachel sat in thought at her elevated position, her gaze wandering to the snowy mountain that dwarved the kingdom she had called home.

...

"Have you guys heard of Hailstorm?" Calista asked, taking a chug of her beer

Seeing the confused faces of her compatriots, Calista began to explain.

"Explorers have told tales of a young man living in the mountains, named Hailstorm. He wields the ability to control Fire and Ice. No one has ever been able to find him though, he lives so far into the mountain that no one could possibly make the journey." Calista explained, causing Rachel to lean back in wonder. With the powers of fire and ice, she could do anything...like stop the war

...

Rachel was abruptly pulled from her reverie as she felt the vibration of the drums.

"BATTLE STATIONS!" She heard the castle guards yelled, prompting her to rush to her armoury, a sleek silver bow in her hand.

"Archers, take aim!" Rachel shouted, her men immediately fanning out from behind her, lining the wall with hundreds of archers.

As she surveyed the vast field of green before her, soon to be dyed red, she grimaced, wanting nothing more than to end all the bloodshed.

But there was no other way

"Fire!"
