Tokutchi's heart raced as he made his way to the Tsuchikage's office. He couldn't help but wonder why he, the leader of the elite Explosion Corps, was being summoned by Onoki. The situation must be serious for the Tsuchikage himself to call him in.
As he entered the office, he saw Onoki sitting behind his desk, looking as stern as ever. Tokutchi bowed respectfully before speaking, "You summoned me, Tsuchikage-sama. Is there something urgent?"
Onoki nodded. "Indeed, Tokutchi. There is a matter I need to discuss with you." He paused for a moment, studying Tokutchi's face. "I have a special assignment for you."
Tokutchi raised an eyebrow in surprise. "A special assignment? What is it, Tsuchikage-sama?"
Onoki leaned forward and placed a file on the desk, sliding it across to Tokutchi. "I want you to take on the role of a guide teacher for two young shinobi, Ken and Aya."
"Guide teacher?" Tokutchi repeated, still trying to process the information. "But I'm the leader of the Explosion Corps. Why would you assign me to teach young students?"
Onoki sighed, understanding Tokutchi's confusion. "I know it may seem unexpected, but I have my reasons. Ken is a civilian genius who has created his own genjutsu style from scratch, and Aya is a skilled member of our clan. I believe your guidance and expertise will help them reach their full potential."
Tokutchi frowned, still not entirely convinced. "But Tsuchikage-sama, I lead an elite team. I have important missions and responsibilities. How can I find time to be a teacher?"
Onoki's expression softened, and he spoke with a hint of sadness in his voice. "I understand your concerns, Tokutchi. But you of all people should know the harsh reality of the shinobi world. Many young geniuses are cut down before they have a chance to shine. I don't want that to happen to these two. They have the potential to become great shinobi, and I trust you to help them realize that potential."
Tokutchi's mind raced with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he felt a sense of duty and responsibility towards his village and the Explosion Corps. On the other hand, he remembered his own past and the teammates he had lost. He knew firsthand the pain of losing young, talented shinobi to the brutality of war.
"I don't want to see them suffer the same fate as my fallen comrades," Onoki continued, his voice filled with genuine concern. "I believe you can guide them, teach them not only the skills of a shinobi but also the importance of protecting those they care about."
Tokutchi looked down at the file on the desk, finally opening it to read its contents. As he flipped through the pages, he saw details about Ken's remarkable genjutsu abilities and Aya's impressive talent with the explosive kekkei genkai.
"Fine," Tokutchi said with a deep sigh. "I'll do it. But you better not be joking with me, Onoki. I'm not known for my patience, you know."
Onoki let out a small chuckle. "I assure you, this is no joke. I trust you to be their guide and mentor."
Tokutchi nodded, his initial anger giving way to determination. "Very well. I'll do my best to help them become strong shinobi."
"That's all I ask," Onoki said, his expression serious. "They have great potential, and I believe in their abilities. Together, the three of you can become a formidable team."
As Tokutchi left Onoki's office with the file in hand, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. He knew that taking on the role of a teacher would be a new and challenging experience for him, but he was also eager to see what these two young shinobi could achieve under his guidance.
The next day, as he met Ken and Aya and their new teammate Sado for the first time, Tokutchi felt a sense of responsibility settle upon his shoulders. He remembered his fallen comrades and vowed to do everything in his power to ensure that these two young shinobi would not suffer the same fate.
