Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Destination Set
Once I passed through the gate, I made a beeline to the nearest villager.
"Excuse me, do you know where the adventurers guild is?" I asked him.
"You just have to go straight till you reach a dead end and turn right."
He answered while pointing in the direction that I needed to go to.
Thanking him, I began to walk there.
I passed by many stalls selling delicious skewers.
Tempted to buy them, I was only stopped by my shortage of money.
My belly rumbled.
Sigh...
When I get enough, my first priority will to buy something to eat.
Arriving at the door, I forced it open.
Even if my mind had aged, my body was still the same 12 year old who lived off the streets.
Some adventurers saw my pitiful attempt at getting in and laughed with contempt.
"I'll show them." I thought to myself.
Walking up to the desk, I waited in line.
Many people stared at me because of my small stature.
I ignored them all and just waited for my turn.
When I went up to the desk, the attendant didn't actually know where I was and got rather confused until he saw me.
He grinned and thought to himself "This kid's not going to pass."
Still grinning he told me to put my hand on a cold stone slab.
Upon further inspection, It told me this was an analyzing device capable of showing someone's statistics for anyone to see.
"Kid, the minimum requirements to become an adventurer is to have at least 40 stats in total."
I panicked for a moment, then checked my status panel.
Sure I was surprised to see what it wrote, but at least I knew I wouldn't fail.
I placed my hand on the slab.
