Chapter 117: It's My Fault

"W-wait! What?" 

To say that I was shocked after hearing the man would be an understatement. 

My mind was already a mess after realizing that I was helping Amara to steal some books from our new history professor. It would have been much better to digest if the room belonged to some other random teacher. 

But life was never easy, or simple. And to make it more troublesome, fate decided to break another news to me. 

"What is he talking about, Amara?" The words left my mouth, each of them soaked in disbelief. How could it be? How could life be so cruel to me? My new history professor was Amara's step-father! Even if I repeated the same line a couple of times to myself, I would still refuse to believe it. 

My eyes jumped from one figure to the other, hoping that at least one of them would provide me with an answer. Amara had her eyes looking everywhere, but at me, while the man had his eyes fixed on Amara, his step-daughter.
