Chapter 257: Picked Up

When Arren was plunged into darkness, he was submerged in a rare fear that was too familiar for him. Although he didn't know where this feeling was coming from. 

It was there; it was growing, and it was only a matter of time before it devoured him completely. 

He felt so weak. Arren was too powerless; he hated that he couldn't do anything. And yet, he was also worried. He was worried about the possibilities, but even more so for his loved ones. 

It was quite funny. How could he worry about others when he should be worrying about himself first? But that was just how he was; for all he knew, his disappearance was the spark of an even bigger hell. 

Arren forced himself to open his heavy eyes; it was as though someone had glued his eyelids, and he had only managed to open them slightly. His vision was hazy, and his head spun as he became dizzy at once.
