Chapter 226: Escape

"Fire! Fire! Protect the Princess."

Zane was the first person to rush to help the princess out of the room before going back for the maids. It was still evening and so everyone escaped from the room without any injuries.

The older lady-in-waiting wrapped the princess with a comfortable blanket as she led her out of the corridors.

Zane helped another maid who was coughing seriously away from the room, moving so that the men who were carrying buckets of water could pass him. Tens of able-bodied men carrying pails of water rushed in until the fire was extinguished.
