"Who injured you?"
"The stairs."
Maxieno took a long breath of air and then laughed. The man's laughter echoed throughout the hall. He hastily stood up, gripped Edna's collar, and made her hang on the wind.
"You playing with me?" asked Maxieno in a whisper with his golden irises burning with anger.
Edna had trouble breathing. She gripped Maxieno's hand, which was holding her collar very tightly. Her face slowly flushed red, while her legs swayed to find a foothold.
The girl's tears slowly trickled down her cheeks, but her expression was different from this morning. Edna showed no fear. Her body didn't tremble and her head didn't hang down. Instead, in the midst of her difficulty, she looked straight at Maxieno with her jaw tightly clenched.
Maxieno let go of his hand until Edna fell to the floor, causing the dragons there to laugh at the girl's pitiful condition.
