Chapter 10: Sharing Secrets
Air. That was what I felt. It was strangely one of the most amazing feelings.
I slowly opened my eyes to see my siblings asleep in front of me. As I felt that where the knife had cut me was bandaged I noticed we were in a cave. To the left of me you could go deeper into the cave, while the right had the entrance out of it. I stood up and started to walk out of the cave after making sure my siblings had no injuries. And then I saw Daxton who was standing in front of me looking off the cliff we were on. We were in a cave on a cliff. But before I could think anymore the thing that caught my attention was his big black wings.
Beautiful. He looked like an impeccable sculpture, with his chiseled jaw, and toned chest, and also every other aspect of his body. He definitely beat all the boys in my village right now.
Does this mean he's like me? Or do all people over here have powers? I had no more time to think before he turned around and seemed shocked to see me standing there.
"How long have you been there!"
"Why are you yelling? If it's about your wings I've already seen them, and so what?"
"He then stopped himself from what he was about to say next and had a more relaxed expression on his face.
"So you do have some powers too? I feel like from the moment I saw you I could sense it but now I'm certain, just based on the fact you're not even the least bit afraid of me."
"....What do you want."
"Like I told you luv, I don't want anything from you. I admit I was curious about you at first because you could make that orge leave so quickly. But after traveling with you for these few days I became curious about you. I got a feeling from you I never had before the moment I saw you, but I grew into more than just curiosity the more I watched you. The way you just accept that you need to care for your brother and sister without any complaints is one thing in particular. Or the way you would look at the forest like it was so exciting and it was calling you. It was beautiful to me." He said as he was taking steps closer towards me. "I know you still don't trust me so let's play a game."
I was about to say something but before I could he had me wrapped in his arms again and we were then up in the sky. This was that amazing feeling.
"What are you doing?" I said firmly
"I'm going to ask you a question Luv, and I want an answer. I'm turn you can ask me a question and I get and answer."
"Why?"
"I told you I want to know more about you." He said with his face dangerously close to mine.
I strangely wanted to kiss him. Which was something I saw father and mother do quite often. Would it be okay for me to do that to him. Or more importantly why would I want to?
"Fine, what do you want to know?" As I said this he smiled and his eyes lit up my soul when he looked at me.
"What is your name first of all? I know you were very sneaky to make it so your name wasn't exposed considering your siblings call you by nicknames."
At this point he might as well know my name. I can't completely distrust him since he did save O and Em.
"Adira." I said while looking into his deep ocean blue eyes.
"Adira." He whispered while giving me a look I hadn't seen from him yet.
It was serious yet a warm feeling was coming from his tone. The way he said my name made me shiver and want to kiss him all the more. It made my face heat up a little.
"Okay my turn, where are you from? And are your wings your gift?"
He smirked. "So you are curious about me. I am from the kingdom of Rona, and about the gift you speak of I assume you mean my ability to sprout wings? That is a second question so I can answer it but you must let me ask a second question then."
I'm already this far into it, "alright."
" Adira luv, my wings are one of my many powers, or gifts as you like to call them. Now for my question, what is one of your powers? And nothing you can do would ever scare me off."
This would be the first time I have talked about my powers with anyone outside my family.
I looked at him as I chose the power I would share with him.
"I can do this." I said talking with him through our minds.
He looked at me with a gentle curiosity again and also spoke to me with his mind.
"Can you hear me?"
"Yes"
"....Adira, this is very rare. Where did you come from?"
"You know where I came from."
"No those people were.. never mind."
I then said outside of my mind, "let's go back down, that's enough questions for now." He listened and brought me back to the cliff.
"Also, I don't like that I owe you so what favor do you want for saving my siblings?"
"....kiss me."
