Chapter 39: YUE LING YOU ARE MINE...

When Daniel grasped Yue Ling's arm harshly, she knew Mo Shira must have revealed their relationship to him. Daniel's eyes blazed with anger.

"How dare you betray me? You're your boss's girlfriend?" Daniel spat, his voice venomous.

Yue Ling trembled, trying to placate him. "Daniel, please calm down. We can talk this out smoothly. Stop shouting."

But Daniel's fury only intensified. "Tell me one thing: do you love him?"

Yue Ling's fear rendered her speechless. She tried to form words, but they caught in her throat.

Daniel's grip tightened. "Answer me, Ling! Are you in love with him?"

Still, Yue Ling couldn't respond. Daniel sneered, "Since you can't talk, it means you're coming with me."

He dragged her towards the elevator, Yue Ling struggling to break free. "Stop it, Daniel! Let go of me! Daniel, please let me go!" she screamed, hoping Mo Shira would hear her plea.

Just as they reached the elevator, Yue Ling summoned all her strength to wriggle free. She took a deep breath and declared, "Yes, I love him! I love him so much, and I can't do without him. No one can separate me from him, not even you!"

Daniel's face twisted in rage. "What did I tell you about falling in love with another man except me?" he snarled, advancing towards her.

Yue Ling retreated, her heart racing with fear. She wondered why Mo Shira hadn't intervened yet, but she stood her ground, ready to face Daniel's wrath

Daniel snarled, "You ran away from me, and I've been searching everywhere for you. And now, you're in love with someone else? How stupid of you to think I, Daniel Shaw, will sit back and watch you be with another man. You're coming with me, and that's final!"

As he tried to drag her away, Yue Ling backed into the wall, but suddenly felt it give way behind her. She closed her eyes, bracing for a slap from Daniel, but instead heard a loud thud and Daniel's scream.

Opening her eyes, she saw Daniel on the floor, his nose bleeding, and Mo Shira standing protectively in front of her. Mo Shira's eyes blazed with fury as he warned Daniel, "Dare to come near my Ling again, and I'll definitely kill you."

Mo Shira called the police, who arrived promptly. As they took Daniel away, he protested, "Wait, what proof do you have against me?"

Mo Shira smiled grimly, producing his phone to show the police the video of Daniel's harassment. He had been recording the incident, anticipating Daniel's influence might sway the authorities. But now, with solid evidence, Daniel's fate was sealed.

Daniel snarled, "You bastard!" through gritted teeth, trying to lunge at Mo Shira, but the police restrained him.

As they led him away, Daniel shouted, "Yue Ling, I'll definitely come back for you! You're mine, Yue Ling! You're mine, and no one else!"

Yue Ling breathed a sigh of relief as Mo Shira pulled her into a comforting embrace. "You have a lot to tell me about your past so something like this won't happen again," he said, his voice gentle.

Yue Ling nodded, still shaken. "Do you think he'll come back for me like he said?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Mo Shira's expression turned fierce. "I'll make sure he doesn't have the chance to do that. You're mine, and no one else."

Yue Ling's eyes narrowed slightly. "You're beginning to sound like him."

Mo Shira's face fell, feigning hurt. "Oh, sorry. But you are mine, right?"

Yue Ling smiled, reassured. "Yeah, you're right. I'm all yours."

Mo Shira's face lit up with a charming smile. "That's more like it. Come on, let's go out for lunch."

Yue Ling nodded, rushing to her desk to grab her bag. As they walked out together, Yue Ling felt a sense of safety and belonging she hadn't known before.

As they stepped out, they were met with the sound of gossiping employees. Two girls in particular caught their attention, their voices dripping with malice as they spoke about Yue Ling.

"I'm telling you, it's all because of that secretary," one said. "Since she joined, the company's been plagued with one problem after another."

The other girl nodded vigorously. "I know she slept her way to that position. She's definitely a slut, and that's why the President favors her. She's probably sleeping with him too."

Their conversation took a nastier turn. "And it's all her fault that Jessica was sent to the branch. If she wasn't here, none of this would have happened."

The second girl added fuel to the fire. "I heard the President sent Hu Wuting to manage the branch just so he and Yue Ling could have some alone time..."

Unbeknownst to them, Mo Shira and Yue Ling had been listening in on their conversation. Mo Shira's eyes narrowed, his voice firm as he addressed the gossiping duo.

"You two, come here."

He pointed at them, with Yue Ling still by his side. The girls turned, their faces flushing with embarrassment as they realized they had been caught red-handed by the President himself.
