Chapter 20: JESSICA'S WAYS OF COMPELLING YUE LING TO LEAVE THE COMPANY
Mo Shira knew she was delaying her arrival to pressure him into signing her resignation letter, but he had no intention of giving in.
As the board members grew restless, Mo Shira considered asking them to wait a bit longer. But before he could speak, a voice broke the silence...
Jessica spoke up, her voice dripping with disdain. "Yue Ling is such an unprofessional person. Despite Mo Shira's dislike for her, she still has the audacity to come late to a board meeting. It's clear she's taking him for granted."
Mo Shira knew Jessica was trying to seek his attention and turn the employees against Yue Ling. He had seen her flirtatious behavior before, including the time she wore a tight skirt and opened her shirt buttons to reveal her cleavage. But he had no interest in her; he disliked girls who acted like that.
Jessica continued to slander Yue Ling, and some employees started to chime in, echoing her sentiments. But just as Mo Shira was about to rebuke them, a voice echoed from the small office, and Yue Ling emerged, her presence surprising everyone.
"I apologize for the delay," Yue Ling said, her eyes locked on Mo Shira. "I was preparing my presentation in the other room."
The board members looked at each other in disbelief, realizing Yue Ling had been in the preparation room the whole time. Mo Shira's expression remained neutral, but he felt a twinge of admiration for Yue Ling's professionalism and dedication.
Yue Ling: "Just so you all know, I heard your conversations. Now I know what everyone thinks about me. Have you all ever seen me come late to any meeting, big or small? Just because I decided to let you all settle down first before we commence the presentation, you think I'm taking this work for granted. Well, to be honest with you all, I don't really have any regard for this work. And I now know that all of you don't want me to continue this work, and that is exactly what I want, as I'm tired of working here. But your boss has refused to sign my resignation letter."
(Yue Ling's words left everyone speechless, their faces filled with shock and confusion)
Yue Ling: "Well, if you don't trust me, then ask Mr. Ho. I think he has a better answer."
(Everyone turned to Mr. Ho, seeking clarification. Jessica's eyes narrowed, thinking, "This is my chance to turn the tables.")
Jessica: "Why would boss do that? Everyone knows it's boss who has been trying to get rid of you. Then why would he suddenly change his mind?"
(Jessica thought to herself, "I know Mo Shira didn't accept her resignation letter, but he won't admit it. Maybe he'll even sign it in front of everyone.")
(The board members nodded in agreement with Jessica, fearful of getting on her bad side. Yue Ling smiled, knowing Jessica was playing into her hands.)
Yue Ling: "CEO Mo, this is my resignation letter. Can you sign it for everyone to see?"
(Yue Ling's eyes sparkled with satisfaction as she handed the letter to Mo Shira. Hu Wuting observed the exchange, intrigued by the dynamics.)
Hu Wuting (thinking): "Mo Shira's face is gloomy, while Yue Ling is smiling. This is getting interesting. What will Mo Shira do next?"
(Mo Shira's face remained expressionless, but his thoughts were racing. "I'm not going to sign that letter. I need to find a way out of this.")
Mo Shira could see through her acting and is sure she is doing this to live this company, but he won't let that happen.
Mo Shira took the envelope indifferently, pulled out his pen, and prepared to sign. Jessica's eyes lit up with excitement, and Yue Ling's smile grew wider. But to everyone's surprise, Mo Shira tore the envelope into pieces, his expression turning cold and angry.
"How do you all expect me to disrespect my girlfriend and sign her resignation letter?" he thundered, his voice dripping with indignation. "It can't happen, can it?"
Jessica's face fell, her eyes widening in shock. "Girlfriend?" she stammered, her mind reeling.
Yue Ling's smile never wavered, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well played, CEO Mo," she thought to herself.
Hu Wuting's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. "Is Mo Shira really in a relationship with Yue Ling? Or is this just another act?"
The board members looked on, confused and unsure of what to make of the sudden twist.
