The electricity was mild, causing more numbness than pain. Bread lay on the platform, her green eyes looking longingly at Idiot on the other side, seemingly frightened.
Idiot glanced at the little girl but turned away without reaction, facing Kampas as the mirrors stopped spinning after they took a few pictures.
However, the ordeal wasn't over. Kampas had Idiot place Bread on several other different machines for a variety of tests. During this, Bread's excitement turned to fear, then to tears. She clung to Idiot's clothes, refusing to let go, burying her head in his chest and sobbing. It took considerable effort for Idiot to pry her out of his arms and into the machines.
Two hours of testing went by, marked by Bread's crying.
Exhausted, she fell asleep again in Idiot's arms, her grip on his clothes tight even in her dreams, not wanting to be "abandoned" again.
