Chapter 96: Anything for my boss

"Where's Adam?" Luca immediately asked Lizz the second they came home, letting Nova go from her embrace.

"Your husband said he will go somewhere, chief." 

"Did he tell you where?"

Lizz shrugged. "I don't care much about him."

'Gosh… she's too honest.' Luca mentally sighed, looking back at Maddison who was on the porch. "Maddison, visit Jacques later. No need to tell her you came. I just want to be sure she will be fine."

"Yes, Chief." Maddison lowered her head, making Luca rock her head.

"Well then. Take care on your way. Maoi —"

"She'll be safe with me, Chief," Maoi reassured even before Luca could finish. His duty aside from being Luca's bodyguard was to assist Maddison. With what Xander had done, it wouldn't be surprising if he started targeting all the people around Luca so Luca would rely on him more. 

What a twisted man. 

Luca heaved a faint sigh of relief.
