Chapter 45: Control

"Wife," Draven whispered, his eyes traveling over the nightdress that clung to her body. "Do you realize what you are doing?" The mere sight of her nearly naked form was enough to make him go mad; he had even forgotten he was naked before her.

A newfound confidence washed over Madeline. Only a few days ago, a few hours ago, she would have hidden in her room, denying herself this moment. But she considered how long they could continue hiding. They were married, and these things would eventually happen. Wasn't it better to address it now, once and for all? She kept her gaze locked on his face, refusing to let her eyes wander downward, knowing he was still naked.

Draven looked away, biting into his lip as he closed his eyes briefly. The internal struggle within him intensified.
