They went to the restaurant, where they were directed to the reserved table. Erin turned to Lucian, who stopped at the entrance. "Join us."
"It's fine," he declined.
"Though a bodyguard, you are still a nobleman. I can't possibly let you stay out here," she insisted and went inside.
Lucian quietly followed her. Using his nobleman status, he had helped her with the footwear, and now she was using the same reasoning to ask him to eat with her.
They had a peaceful meal where no one talked much, except for Bree, who occasionally spoke when she needed to serve food onto Erin's plate.
After the meal, they roamed around a few more places, stopping once in a while to watch roadside plays and folk dances performed by various groups. Erin made sure to instruct Bree to put money in the baskets of those performing groups, understanding it was their only way of earning a living.
Lucian standing near her, did his job to protect her with utmost dedication.
