Chapter 87: I’m fine

The figure stood in the doorway, casting a long shadow across the hall. For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Then, with a swift movement, the figure threw back their cloak, revealing a dark, armored suit and a menacing mask that covered their face.

"Who are you?" Seraphina demanded, stepping forward protectively. Her hand was already on the hilt of her sword, eyes narrowing in suspicion.

The masked intruder didn't respond with words. Instead, they launched themselves at Seraphina with startling speed. Seraphina met the attack head-on, her sword clashing against the intruder's blade with a sharp ring that echoed through the hall.

"Get back, Elara!" Seraphina shouted as she parried a series of rapid strikes. The force of the blows pushed her back, but she stood firm, determination etched into her features.
