"Oh!" Zia and Angwi clapped their hands, and even Jade chirped loudly as if agreeing.

"Like...into a demon?" I blinked my eyes repeatedly, and strangely felt excited. I suddenly remembered Halloween on earth, something that I had never experienced too. Although I remembered some volunteers going around the children's ward with costumes.

"No," Natha answered swiftly, to my dismay. "Humans and demons are way too different in terms of appearance, and it's harder for the spell to last for a long time if there's too much change to be made."

I tilted my head in confusion. "Then?"

His hand came back to my hair, rubbing the strands between his fingers, before softly stroking my earlobe. "The best kind of lie is the one with a half-truth," he smiled, rubbing the tip of my ear. "Isn't that right, my dear Druid?"
