I took my trip through the forest as always. I can't say that I love school although I enjoy it sometimes. That one boy makes it so unbearable. How can someone be so irritating and seem so perfect to everyone else? I'm the only one who sees him for what he is, which is a total failure. I seriously doubt that he would be the way he is if it weren't for his parent's money. I continued to think about this as I made my way to the Oaktree.
I teleported to school and walked to my sit which to my dismay is a row across from him but I'm a desk behind. At least I'm not besides I feel bad for his desk mate. It should be a crime to sit with someone like him. Although it seems that everyone except me enjoys his company but that's only because they don't know him like I do. The teacher began the same boring lecture as always. All I could do was look at the clock and hope lunch would come faster. I tapped my fingers on the desk and let out an exasperated sigh.
Finally, the bell ring, and I could head off to lunch a lingered behind a little so that I would be behind him, Ezereath. He pulled out a big blue book I didn't know what it said until someone called him and he turned around. I squinted to get a better look at the book. "Tales of spirits and Lavens." A light bulb went off in my head I remember this book my mother had read it to me when I was younger.
She told me stories of how my grandmother was a Laven and how she spent a lot of her time, saving people. I could hear a little resentment in my mother's voice when she talked about it sometimes. Maybe she's upset she wasn't able to spend more time with her mother. Lost in thought I almost lost Ezereath. Luckily he wasn't completely out of my sight so I was able to catch up to him while being discrete. He took a sit almost in the center of the cafeteria so I took a table towards the side of him.
Mindlessly I played around with my food using one hand to move the fork around and the other to rest my head. It's so boring to observe him. He doesn't do anything. I trashed my food it wasn't very appealing to me. Food on earth is nothing compared to my mothers cooking. I turned back to Ezereath, he had pushed his food to the side and seemed completely immersed in the book. Although I may not be right because he turning side to side. This made me wonder what was going on in his mind. It was as if he was trying to look at something without being noticed, if he was trying to be subtle he clearly wasn't doing it correctly.
"Whatever," I whispered softly to myself it's not as if I really care. As if this day couldn't get any longer my last class of the day, math, seemed to drone on forever I didn't even want to focus so I let my mind wonder the voice of the teacher become intelligible until I finally drowned it completely out I'd rather be anywhere but here. With nothing else to think about soon the memories of the night I'd fled my Kingdom, Asteron, flooded my mind. Me, scrambling around trying to gather everything we needed while my mother screamed frantically stumbling around. I hadn't thought about this in a while but it come back to me. Just thinking about the night makes me ache, my heart feels heavy.
To my relief, the bell rang. I packed out slowly so that I wouldn't seem suspicious while I waited for Ezereath. I followed him while he went home the same way he did every day. I followed quietly and left a distance between us as to not give away any sign that I was following him. Soon he got to the oak tree I waited half a minute before I teleported. I don't think I have ever been to this part before of Lucentia.
It was a forest but what struck me was that all the trees were cherry blossoms. It was very serene and fragrant. White and pink petals fell in front of me I stretched my hand out all the way so that the petals to fell in my hand. I wanted to enjoy my surroundings but this was not the right time to be distracted. I hadn't noticed until now but his outfit had changed he was wearing a red and yellow sleeveless jacket, a plain white T-shirt, and light blue jeans. I forget our appearance sometimes changes to meet the past earth standards. I followed behind slowly until I heard a crunching sound I look down I had stepped on a fallen branch I reacted instantly.
I quickly turned to hide behind a tree. I peaked out only a tiny bit so I wouldn't be seen. Ezereath stood there looking around he seemed around. For a moment I thought he had seen me when our eyes met it felt like forever. My heart began to race. I was at ease when he continued to walk. I didn't want to risk it so I remained behind the tree for about 2 minutes. I stepped out and looked around. I felt heat overtake my body, how could I have been so stupid to let him out of my sight? I aimlessly walked in around this foreign place. In one swift motion, I was thrown and pinned against a tree. Something cold, metal, and a little sharp pressed flatly against my throat. A dagger. I looked down to see the culprit who was no other than Ezereath, Despite how scrawny he is quite strong but not strong enough to frighten me, although the glare he give me was quite unsettling, there was a hint of hesitance in his deep amber eyes.
"Why are you following me?" he asked, A bit of disgust seeped through his voice. scoffing I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes not even affected in the slightest by him or his dagger. he became a bit more sheepish taking a barely noticeable step back which was perfect for me because then I was able to grab the dagger and twist him around so that his own dagger was pressed against his throat. As much as I would like it I have no intention of killing him. it is fun to toy with him though. I watched the heavy rise and fall of his chest.
